Cardiff’s newest luxury hotel invites special guests for a sneak peek prior to Autumn opening
The Parkgate Hotel, soon to be a luxury, must-stay destination in the centre of Cardiff, invited a select few to marvel at its grandeur in the making. Despite donning hard hats and hi vis jackets, attendees were still able to envision the luxury of the new site and sample some of the delectable hospitality that it will offer when it opens in the autumn.
Combining stylish innovation with the elegance of yesteryear, The Parkgate Hotel breathes new life into two iconic pieces of Cardiff real estate – the old Post Office and County Court properties on Westgate Street.
On touring the site, visitors were able to see how the most striking period features from these Grade II listed buildings, which date back to the turn of the 20th Century, have been carefully restored and rejuvenated.
The Parkgate Hotel will include 170 guest bedrooms and suites, a signature restaurant and bar, an elegant tea lounge and a luxurious rooftop spa overlooking the stunning Cardiff skyline. It will be the premium spot in the city centre to meet and drink, dine and relax, as well as the finest place to stay.
The Parkgate Hotel is an exciting collaboration between the Welsh Rugby Union, property developer Rightacres, and The Celtic Collection, the group behind the iconic Celtic Manor Resort.
Speaking of the opportunity to showcase the progress made on site, The Celtic Collection Chief Executive Ian Edwards said: “This project has been a long time in the making but as we hit the final stages of building and development, it was a pleasure to unveil our vision to a select few. We hope this has provided a unique insight into what the finished hotel will look like, how we’ve incorporated the history of Cardiff with the need for a luxurious, landmark venue right at the heart of the city.
“Not only will The Parkgate be one of the finest venues for visitors to Cardiff, it will also be a must-visit for those living and working in the city, and we hope we have provided a taste of things to come, to the guests who joined us for this special event.”
